The topmost picture is the Loh Mee @ Chong Pang hawker centre recommended by my blogger friend. It was nice and yummy and had a few pieces of fried wanton in it. It also has half an egg plus ngo hiang,garlic etc. The gravy is thick and tasty. Good recommendation!
The second picture does not look too nice because the chwee kueh were smashed up due to the wrapping. I tar pow the chwee kueh from a stall there and brought it to a kopi shop nearby and eat them with my kopi O.
I love the Chong Pang Market and Hawker Centre because of the food, wet market, coffee shops and other amenities.
I am a simple man, previously brought up in a kampong and loves the local food like chicken rice, porridge, chwee kueh, duck rice, satay, bbq chicken wings, nasi lemak, loh mee etc etc. CP has lots of local fares which I've just mentioned. Not only are they delicious but they are relatively cheap too.
CP also has a lot of stalls selling all kinds of fruits, eg: pineapples, papayas, oranges, apples, jack fruits, rambutans, jambu, mangoes etc etc. There are at least 4 coffee shops, barber/hairdressing shops, POSB bank, ATMS, hardware shops and almost anything you would want.
However, CP can be very crowded especially on weekends,public holidays, during the morning and lunch hours.
I wish I could buy a flat and live in CP. However, most of the HDB flats are 3 roomers ( 2 bedrooms & 1 living room. Total area is about 700 to 800 sq ft) built at least 30 years ago. I was curious and so I googled and saw an advertisement of an old 3 roomed flat with a sale price tag of S$330,000. I thought it's rather expensive as it is about 35 years old (99 year leasehold). It's fine I told my wife, who is also keen about living in CP, that we can always drive there from our place which is only 12 km away.
