Too much rain and little sunlight

We are having lots of rain this summer and little sunlight. Our watermelon and tomato plants are affected badly. Our tomatoes split and the watermelons are bursting with too much rain which has been falling almost daily over the last two weeks. Now we can understand how the weather can affect the livelihoods of farmers.

Singapore weather Vs Japan's summer

Today's weather in SG is quite nice and comfortable compared to Japan's. SG top temperature is 30c whereas Japan's is 34c. The UV is high in Japan but not in SG. The cooler weather in SG is perhaps due to the morning slight downpour.

A nice cool morning

Woke up to a wet and cool morning. The outside temperature is about 27.3 C which is cool by Singapore standard.
I thought to myself how fortunate we are as we do not have to go out and work.
I just heard on the radio that one of MRT (train) lines has been disrupted causing some inconvenience to the passengers who were going to work. The train breakdowns are frequent compared to those in some other countries like London, New York, Tokyo etc. Singapore train networks are relatively new when compared to those in countries that I've mentioned.
Driving to work can be frustrating too. The roads or so called expressways are usually jammed with all sorts of vehicles. There are about 1 million vehicles in this tiny island of Singapore.
Therefore, we are glad and lucky not having to travel to work.

Lunch at home

We had our lunch at home. It's a simple lunch comprising of nikujaga, fried chicken and a small bowl of Japanese rice.

Much talked about Japanese mee pok/ba chor mee, a disappointment

Tried the much talked-about noodles managed by a Japanese family at Clementi this morning. The queue was long. The mee pok was disappointingly average.
Nearer to our place, the mee pok is 10 times better and so is the one at Blk 444 Pasir Ris (below).

Rain, rain come again, wash away the darn haze

This is what it looks after a short heavy down pour this evening around my place. At 7pm, the PSI is 42 which is in the "Good" range.
